Life is An Adventure!

My 20 year old niece Ali is always telling us that life is an adventure. Leading up to, and since turning 40 in November, I have tried to look at life like Ali has encouraged us to do. You start to get comfortable with your routines, schedules, etc. Don't get me wrong..... life here is not boring, just comfortable. So, I have decided to go out of my comfort zone and try some new things! I have done some things that I had never done before: I went away for a weekend by myself where I didn't know anyone, tried some new foods, went to see a TV show (Martha Stewart), and worked as an acting elementary school principal for 2 weeks! All of those experiences took me out of my comfort zone! I learned a lot about myself through all of them though! I have no problem talking to strangers (that's not a totally new revelation for me), but being surrounded by strangers for 3 days and meeting people from all over the U.S. was a wonderful experience. I found some new foods that I love (quinoa for one!). I discovered that Martha Stewart is really down to earth in person, not at all like the negative person that she is often portrayed as!
That brings me to my newest adventure....... starting a blog! I love creating things for myself, but I especially like sharing my creations with others! It is a great feeling for me to give someone something that I have created and watching their expression! There is something extra special when you give a handmade item, don't you agree? I am a teacher by profession. One of the greatest rewards is when you have taught a lesson and the students get it! This is one of the reasons why I became a Stampin' Up! demonstrator 3 years ago. I get the chance to teach and share my love of papercrafting with others! What fun! So, this blog naturally seemed like the next step....a chance to reach out and share with lots of people! I hope that you enjoy this adventure along with me, and maybe you will be inspired to try something outside of your comfort zone along the way!
